The Fairy Collection

My collection of Fairy Portraits started as soft and easy as a Sunday morning, while drinking my coffee in a small park in Barcelona, but the roots are in my grandparents' garden, in a small village in Romania. My sister and I used to play with flowers, and spend most of our days in the garden. So each portrait is a testament to that feeling of peace, colour and sunshine. 

My Fairies are in every woman — eyes closed, faces half-hidden, absorbed into the natural world around them. Surrounded by leaves, poppies and butterflies, by flowers that grow where thoughts used to be.

Each Fairy was painted by hand, in watercolour and ink. They are portraits of inner states — of peace, of transformation, of the particular quiet that comes when a woman stops performing and simply is.

I hope you can recognise something in each of them. That is the point :)
